The  primary goal of the Suffolk   Teachers’   Educational  Mentoring (STEM) Program is to develop skilled mentors committed to supporting and retaining quality teachers.  A mentor (an experienced, skilled teacher) is paired  with  a  mentee  (the beginning teacher or  the experienced teacher new to the Suffolk  Public  School  Division).  The mentor  offers useful information  and  advice  to the  new  teacher,  ranging from  working  with  colleagues   to locating specific resources.
