Marine Biology, Oceanography, and Underwater

If you love whales, exotic fish, and underwater robots you won’t want your kids to miss this free class. Also learn what it’s like to be a real Marine Biologist. Sign up for this free class now!

This new online class is not only going to teach your kids about underwater life and the physical ocean elements, but also provide your kids with a hands-on experience of what it’s really like to be a marine biologist.

Kids learn how to study the creatures that live in the sea in their natural environment by building scientific instruments that marine biologists use in the field, including a live-cell microscope and underwater ROV robot in addition to exploring erupting chemical volcanoes, and so much more.

This class is ideal for kids ages 7-14 (older if they have not studied Marine Biology before). Use the web address to register for upcoming classes.

Let’s Buy Stock!

What greater gift could you give your child than personal financial literacy. Using The Stock Market Game, you and your child will explore the fundamentals of personal finance and investing, while practicing content and skills in math, English Language Arts, economics, social studies, and other subjects. Working together to build and manage an investment portfolio in a real-world, dynamic marketplace, you and your child will analyze and make decisions, explore the consequences of your choices, and seek new ways to strategize for success. You know that you’re modeling critical problem solving and money management skills for your child; your child knows that you’re both having lots of fun.

Student Expo Coming to Suffolk!

Does your child have an amazing idea, product or service? Let them be one of Hampton Roads Select, an elite group of future business owners with the opportunity to develop, brand and sell their product at the Hampton Roads Kids Expo. The Bennett Center has partnered with our sponsors to coach 25 new kid entrepreneurs. Each child will receive $1,000 to launch their business under the direction and guidance of a business mentor where they will debut their product or service at the Kid Expo.

The wonderful thing about this Kids Expo is we are taking 25 youth ages 5-17 and helping them start their own businesses by giving them $1,000, a mentor and putting them through 6 classes that will help them create their llc, brand, market, open up a bank account and set them up to debut their product at the Kid Expo. This is all free to the children and their parents. Attached is the flyer for the Expo and one for the program. There is also a YouTube video explaining it.
