UVA Curry School of Education M.ED. IN CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION (ONLINE)

Dear Educator,

The fully online M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Virginia’s School of Education and Human Development has added two new areas of emphasis. Recently, the online master’s programs were ranked #3 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.

The Professional Studies area of emphasis will provide provisionally licensed teachers an opportunity to complete required licensure coursework required by the Virginia Department of Education while earning a master’s degree. The benefits include:

  • additional content in curriculum and instruction
  • option to apply your professional studies requirements toward a master’s degree
  • individual advising

The Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) area of emphasis will support teachers’ capacity to teach SEL curriculum. The benefits include:

  • cultivating your own social and emotional skills
  • developing an understanding of how these skills apply to modeling SEL skills for students during classroom interactions
  • managing the stresses associated with teaching
