Ed. Leadership Program at ODU

Educational Leadership @ Old Dominion University

Are you interested in working full-time and earning your Master’s or Educational Specialist degree and PK-12 Administration and Supervision endorsement?

Or are you interested in earning a Doctorate in Educational Leadership while working full-time in your current role?
Virginia public school educators receive a 25% discount off of the per credit tuition.
  • There are multiple cohort opportunities leading to a PK-12 Administration and Supervision license with a degree (M.S.Ed. or Ed.S.).  Cohorts begin each semester and we are accepting applications for the Spring 2018, Summer 2018, and Fall 2018 semesters.  Cohorts are offered in a five semester format, as well as an accelerated four semester format beginning in the summer.
  • The Executive Ph.D. in Educational Leadership Cohort is designed for educational leaders working full-time in PK-12 schools and divisions.  PK-12 school leaders take classes as part of a cohort in which students discuss and research educational problems of practice and policy.  Course content is designed to help students use research, theory, and their own professional expertise to advance organizational change in their own organizations.  The Cohort program builds an intensive professional learning community in an executive-style accelerated doctoral program.  The cohort is a 3 – 3 1/2 year program.
Each program is primarily online (with some Administration and Supervision – M.S.Ed./Ed.S. cohorts completely online) and fully live, catering to full-time working professionals.  The unique online learning environment enables our students and faculty to engage in a class setting that simulates a face-to-face classroom.  In many ways, the courses parallel that of an in–person graduate class.  Our courses, offered once a week, are held in the evening during the work week (not on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays).
If you have questions or would like to set up a phone call to discuss any of the program options, please email Dr. Karen Sanzo, Graduate Program Director:  ksanzo@odu.edu
