|Choose from two week-long sessions, during which participants will:Gain expertise in teaching with portraiture from museum educators, curators, and historiansLearn to use portraiture in the classroom, identifying and analyzing key components of a portrait and relating visual elements to the historical contextMake interdisciplinary connections across portraiture, social studies, and English or language artsExplore and utilize the digital resources in the Smithsonian’s Learning Lab to create a lesson idea to share with fellow participants|
|K-12 teachers may apply as individuals or as part of a team. Priority will be given to those who teach social studies, English, language arts, and visual arts. To learn more, click here.|
