WV Wesleyan Summer Gifted Program–Accepting applications

The Wesleyan Summer Gifted Program has been committed to fostering the development of gifted adolescents in the quantitative, verbal and social areas. The camp takes place in West Virginia on the campus of WV Wesleyan College. The teachers are all college professors who possess a special interest in gifted education. Classes are challenging, yet fun. Creativity is emphasized and channeled both directly and indirectly. Many campers return year after year. Dates for 2015 are Sunday, June 21 through Friday, July 3. The cost of the program is $1,200 for two weeks of room and board, advanced instruction by college professors, and activities and supervision by experienced camp counselors.

JMU Summer Honors Institute for Rising High School Seniors

The James Madison University Summer Honors Institute is a unique week-long program where talented rising high school seniors get a first-hand look at life in a dynamic university and its Honors program. Participants will live in a residential hall, sample classes from a variety of majors, and engage with professors and current students. Workshops will offer tips and advice on college admissions, major and career exploration, and making the college transition. Current JMU Honors students will lead fun activities on and off campus and provide their own insight on the college honors experience.

Selected students will attend one of the two summer sessions. The cost is a $800 residential fee which covers instructors, class materials, housing, meals, and activities. Scholarships are available to applicants who demonstrate financial need.
