2015 LHS Basketball Skills Camp

The Lakeland High School basketball coaches will be hosting a Basketball Skills Camp from July 27-30, 2015.  The camp will take place in the Lakeland High School gymnasium from 5:00 – 8:00 pm for rising 3rd – 8th graders.

2015 Field Hockey Conditioning Info

field_hockeyGirls interested in playing field hockey for Lakeland High School in 2015:

 Off-Season Skill Sessions:

Each session will be from 3:15-4:30 at Lakeland and 8:00-9:30 am starting June 23.

-June 2, 4, 9, 11 (this is a half day, but the time remains the same 3:15-4:30)

-June 16, 18, 23, 25

-June 28-July 4—Dead Period (no sessions will be held at this time)

-July 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23—times will be in the morning from 8-9:30

Conditioning:

July 27-31:  7-8:30am

Tryouts (MUST HAVE A PHYSICAL):  Physicals will be available at LHS on June 1, 2015 starting at 4:30 pm.  Cost is $10.00.

August 3-7:  7-10 am

Fall Sports Conditioning & Try-Out Information

athleticsBoys’ Volleyball

Conditioning:  Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00 – 4:00 pm in the Gymnasium (except for June 29 and July 1)
Tryouts:  August 3 & 4, 2015

Girls’ Volleyball players are welcome to come to the Boys’ conditioning sessions

Football

Conditioning: Mondays – Thursdays from 4:00 – 6:00 pm starting Monday, July 6

Cheerleading

Practice:  Tuesday, July 28 – Monday, August 3 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in the gymnasium. No practice on Friday, July 31.

Cheer Tryouts

cheerCheerleading tryouts will be held Monday, June 15 – Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in the gymnasium.  Tryouts will be from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.  All athletes trying out for the Varsity and JV Cheer squads must have a VHSL Physical form on file.

athleticsCongratulations Jack Boswell and Lincoln Kerlee, Boys’ Tennis Conference 18 Doubles Champions, nominees for the Duke Automotive – Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week!

Jack and Lincoln worked their way through the competition in the Ironclad Conference doubles tournament this past week and defeated Denbigh High School’s Josh Ramey and Donovan Calupitan on Friday in Newport News to claim the conference championship.

Boys’ Tennis Conference 18 Doubles Champions!

athleticsCongratulations to Boys’ Tennis players Jack Boswell and Lincoln Kerlee, Conference 18 Doubles Champions!  Jack and Lincoln advance to the 4A Regional Doubles Tournament.

The Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis teams will be playing Midlothian in the 4A Regional Tournament on Monday.

swaterfieldCongratulations Stasha Waterfield, Varsity Softball player, a nominee for the Duke Automotive – Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week!

Stasha has continued to be a remarkable offensive force for the Lady Cavaliers. In Tuesday’s 12-2 road win over Denbigh High School, she went 4-for-5 including a solo home run. In Monday’s 15-4 road win against Phoebus High School, she went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs batted in.
