Vote William Barnes, SN-H’s Player of the Week!

DSC_0186Congratulations William Barnes, Varsity Football player, a nominee for the Duke Automotive – Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week!

William continued to be a defensive star on Friday night and one of the reasons Coach Bryan Potts has such confidence in the Cavaliers’ pass defense. He grabbed three interceptions in a 21-7 road win against Hickory High School, his second three-pick performance of the year, the first coming against visiting Oscar Smith High School.

Cavalier Madness

basketball1Come on out to Cavalier Madness on Friday, November 14, 2014 and be introduced to the Varsity and JV Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball teams and the Winter Cheer squad.  Other events will include an Lakeland High School All-Star Challenge (NBA All-Star Challenge), a Slam Dunk Contest and a 3 point Shoot Out (Boys and Girls).

The event will start at 6:00 pm in the Lakeland High School gymnasium.

Cross Country @ Hog Jog 10-11-14

The Cross Country team participated in the Smithfield Hog Jog on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Ryan Wright placed 1st in his age group.  Coach Novakoski placed 2nd in his age group.

Golf All-Conference 18

athleticsCongratulations to our Varsity Golf Team! They placed 2nd in the Conference 18 Tournament held on Monday, September 29 and Tuesday, September 30, 2014. The entire team will be moving on to the 4A South Regional Tournament.

Vote William Barnes as SN-H’s Player of the Week!

DSC_0186Congratulations William Barnes, Varsity Football player, a nominee for the Duke Automotive – Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week!

Despite a 48-7 home loss to regular Group 6A state title contender Oscar Smith High School on Friday night, William still created highlights for the Cavaliers with his impressive performance on defense. He recorded three interceptions, including one against Tigers star sophomore quarterback Shon Mitchell.

Swim Team Conditioning

athleticsLakeland Swim Team conditioning will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 am to 7:45 am starting on Monday, October 6th.  Please meet in the gymnasium wearing athletic shoes and workout clothes and be sure to bring a water bottle and a change of clothes for school.

The Parent/Swimmer Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 9th at 6:30 pm.  Contact Coach Brant with any further questions at raganba@charter.net.

Field Hockey Games Postponed 9-24-14
