Graduation Requirements

Diploma Options

The Standards for Accrediting Schools in Virginia,  adopted by the Virginia Board of Education,  establishes high school graduation requirements.  Students have five diploma options:  Standard Diploma (22 credits),  Standard Technical Diploma (22 credits),  Advanced Studies Diploma (26 credits),   Advanced Technical Diploma (26 credits) and Modified Standard Diploma (20 credits).   Students meeting standards based on  Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) goals and objectives are eligible for a Special Diploma.   The following charts outline the specific diploma requirements.   Further detail about the type of class needed to satisfy the credit requirements in each subject may be found in the 2011-2012 Program of Studies,  available in the Guidance Office.

New in 2013, all incoming 9th grade students will have community service requirements for graduation.  Click the link below for the handbook outlining these requirements.
