Beginning Band

  • Exercises 50-65
  • Remember to focus on BREATHING and PROPER POSTURE to create the best tones possible.
Intermediate Band
  • All 5 Major Scales ( B-flat, E-flat, A-flat, F, and C) and the Chromatic Scale (Book 2 Exercises 185/186)
  • Book 1 exercises 154-170, Book 2 Exercises (20-23 for those in the concert band) and (185-186 Chromatic Scale Studies)
  • Review Activity March, Strange Pursuit, and Blazon
  • Remember Concert Band Rehearsal for this week is on Monday from 2:30-4:30
Advanced Band
  • Same as Intermediate Band Add in book 2 exercises 28-45

Make the best effort to do well on your 9-weeks test this week and please remember that if you still have quizzes or test that are due to see Mr. Bradley BEFORE (7:15am-7:40am) or AFTER SCHOOL(2:15pm-onward) to make those items up. Thank you for your continued support!!!

*If your child has any make up assignments (there are quite a few students) please make sure to have them see me before or after school to make up these assignments. They will stay as a (msg=missing) in the gradebook until made up.

*There will be one concert band afterschool rehersal this week from 2:30-4:30. All students who have been initially selected for the ensemble will have their names posted on the band room window on Tuesday.

  • Quizes on ANY exercises between 1-39 (3 quiz grades) WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY…
  • Thank you all for coming to the afterschool band rehearsals and supporting this event!!

Intermediate/Advanced Band

  • Major Scales Concert B-flat, E-flat, A-flat, F, and C
  • Book Exercises Book 1:130-136 (Intermediate) and Book 2: 28-32 (Advanced)
  • All sheet music is subject to quiz
  • Quiz will be given on Thursdays class on Concert C scale and and two pieces of concert music
  • There is one more scheduled rehearsal on MONDAY DECEMBER 12th from 2:30-5:00pm

Report time for all band members begins 6:00 ( but it never hurts to be early ). Be in the bandroom ready to warm up by 6:20!!! If there is an OUTSTANDING issue where you cannot make it please let Mr. Bradley know ASAP. Make up assignments will ONLY be given to students who have those issues. Not attending the concert or having discipline issues that result in being removed from the performance will result in an AUTOMATIC ZERO TEST GRADE!!! Thank you for your continued support!!!

Beginning Band

  • Any exercise between 1-39 in the book
  • Numbers that will be performed on the KFMS Band concert include #17, #25, #30, #31, #34 # 38 and #39 and a QUIZ will be given on Wednesday/ Thursdays classes on ANY 2 exercises from the concert list.
  • REMEMBER that beginning band will have another AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSAL on Thursday December 8 from 2:30-5:00.

Intermediate/ Advanced Band

  • Concert B-flat, F, A-flat, C, and begin looking at concert E-f
  • Look at the selections for the concert in the following order: Star Spangled Banner, El Toro, Activity March, The Little Drummer Boy, and Winter Wonderland
  • Please remember to be in attendance for full band Practice on MONDAY December 5th and MONDAY December 12th.

KFMS Winter Concert

The King’s Fork Middle School band is proud to present our 2011 winter concert here at KFMS on Tuesday, December 13th at 7:00pm in the auditorium. This year will feature two ensembles, the KFMS Beginning Band ( comprised of 6th 7th and 8th graders) and the KFMS Concert Band (comprised of 7th and 8th graders). To highlight a few specifics about the performance:

  • The attire for this performance will be black slacks and white button up shirts with black ties for the gentlemen and black slacks/skirts with a white top for the ladies. Also please remember dress shoes as well!!!
  • Concert band students should begin arriving between 5:45 and 6:00
  • Beginning Band students should arrive between 6:00-6:15
  • The performance will begin promptly at 7!!!

Both ensembles will have afterschool practices to also help with prepare for the performance. These practices will last from 2:30pm  to 5pm The dates for these practices are:

  • Concert Band:  Monday December 5th & Monday December 12th
  • Beginning Band: Thursday December 1st & Thursday Demember 8th

ALL STUDENT RIDES ARE EXPECTED TO BE AT SCHOOL TO PICK UP THEIR CHILD PROMPTLY AT 5PM!!! If there are any questions for concerns please let Mr. Bradley know IN ADVANCE and thank you for your continued support of the KFMS Band Program!!!!

King’s Fork High School Pep Band

November 23, 2011

The first practice for the KFHS Pep Band will be on Wednesday November 30th beginning at 2:30 in preparation for the game on December 6th. All 7th and 8th Grade Intermediate and Advanced band students are allowed to come out and participate. All students who do participate in a certain amount of performances will receive a free 100 test grade at the end of the nine weeks to substitute for a students lowest test grade!!!!
