***Homework Notebook***

Parents: Please make sure your child has a Homework Notebook for all classes. Students are required to copy down homework (when given) and get it initialed by the teacher. Student agendas contain a designated section for daily homework assignments in each subject. They may be purchased by your child’s homeroom teacher for $5.

Students will learn the language of Algebra and Real Numbers. This will include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers (positive and negative numbers). Also include is solving numerical and algebraic expressions using Order of Operations.

Math Autobiography

Students are required to complete at least one Writing Assignment in Algebra for each nine week period. The 1st Nine Weeks Writing Assignment is called the “Math Autobiography”. Students have a detailed guideline sheet that includes the due date of this major assignment.

Parents please review this assignment (green worksheet) and make sure that your child adhere to the guidelines.

PreAlgebra students will explore real number systems and their properties. These include the distributive, associative, commutative, identity, inverse, and zero properties of math.

Students will also solve simple numeric and algebraic expressions and equations.
