Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school! Are you ready for Tuesday? I am very excited about the coming school year! Our first tasks for the coming week are to get our rules and procedures down so that we’re all on the same page and our class runs smoothly. We’re also going to start looking at some of the strategies good readers use to understand what they’re reading, like predicting, summarizing, and using context clues. We’re going to work on some place value in math, but this is a continuation of what you learned in second grade, so you’re already a pro! In science, we’re going to look at the steps in the scientific process. You’ll see–it will be fun! There will be some homework this week. Every week, homework comes out on the first day of school for the week (which is usually Monday) and is due on the last day of the week (usually Friday). But plan ahead–don’t leave it until the last minute! See you on Tuesday!

Whenever you have time on the computer at home, PLEASE feel free to go to the Quia webpages. These games are fun, but they contain skills that will help you be successful as a third grader!
