Mrs. Murray's Words

The following students have been selected to attend the field trip on Thursday, November 17, to the Hilton Garden Inn. 

Please make sure that you dress in BUSINESS ATTIRE. 

Young Men– dress slacks, dress shirt (collared) with a tie (preferable), dress shoes; optional: sports coat or suit

Young Ladies– dress, skirt and blouse with dress shoes and hose; dress slacks and blouse with appropriate shoes

Absolutely NO JEANS, NO TENNIS SHOES, and NO SHORT SKIRTS! 

If you fail to dress appropriately, you will NOT be allowed to attend the trip.

Today, we spent the majority of our time with our essays.  We discussed the scoring rubrics.  We also set up our writing folders and analyzed our writings.

I also introduced our new vocabulary– just the first 10.

Homework:

1. Write vocabulary sentences with the new words from “The Scarlet Ibis.”

2. Read “The Scarlet Ibis” in the literature book or online.  Be prepared for a reading check.

3. Have your novel or parent note in class on Wednesday to sign up for your book project.
