Letter Ff Week!
New Year, New Responsibilities!
Happy New Year! We hope you had a special time celebrating with family and friends over winter break.
Upon starting the second “half” of the school year, we are teaching the students to be more responsible and independent to get ready for kindergarten next year. Please work with your child on putting on their coat and zipping it. Also continue to work on personal information (birthday, address, parent’s name, etc.) and name writing (if your child can write her first name, work on her last name.) We are amazed at how quickly each child learns.
“If you want your children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders.”~ Abigail Van Buren
What we are learning
This week we will start our fifth theme called “Animals Everywhere”. Letter Ff is our new letter this week – please practice identifying the letter Ff on signs, magazines, etc and review the sound Ff makes. We will be discussing pets and how to care for them, along with reading stories about pets and the experiences that pet owners have had with them. We will read about Frosty the Snowman and make a snowman craft. We will also read The Rainbow Fish, and make a rainbow fish craft. Please continue to review all letters learned so far (S,T,P,O X, Y,U,W).
