We are beginning a new unit this week called “My Family, My Community,” where we will discuss, read stories and complete activities based on families and communities. We are still learning and discussing shapes, letters and especially letters in our name.  This week, we will discuss and draw the members of our families, count candy corn and paint a candy corn pattern, make a family out of leaves, and review shapes by making a pumpkin plate with a face of a jack-o-lantern.

Please continue to discuss the letters in childrens’ first or last name and practice name-writing.

Please send in a family photo by Friday of this week so that students can share with the class and we can hang in the room – this unit on families lasts for 3 weeks, so I’d like to keep them up that long.
