Project for Spanish 2 and 3 for the 3rd cycle
February 22, 2010
Project for Spanish 2 and Spanish 3
Spanish 2 – Due Friday, April 2, 2010
Spanish 3 – Due Thursday, April 1, 2010
Your project for this cycle is to find 5 articles, written in Spanish, and a write a summary for each one. You will have to use the internet as your resource for this project. You can use the following sites to gather your articles:
http://www.onlinenewspapers.com/spain.htm - listing of Spanish language newspapers around the world
www.telemundo.com
www.univision.com
You can also use Yahoo. At the bottom of the home page you will see “International”. Click on the word and you will see a world map. Just click on one of the Spanish-speaking countries. It will then take you to yahoo’s homepage for that country.
These are not the only sites you can use, but this will help you get started.
The articles must reflect current events (within the last 30 days). You will have to print these articles from the internet.
Once you find the articles, you will have to translate them in order to be able to write your summaries. Your summaries must be 1 paragraph in length (at least 5 sentences), and your summaries must be typed (font: Times New Roman; font size: 12; double spaced [1.5]).
Each summary must be stapled to its article. You will submit them in a folder (I will give you one when you are ready to turn in your project). Your name must be at the top of each summary AND write your name on each article.
WARNING: If you work with someone else on this project the same articles should not be used by both of you! You may work together to find the articles but both of you cannot submit the same ones!
Four of the summaries can be written in English. The fifth one must be written in Spanish, no exceptions!! If you need assistance you must see me on Tuesdays after school. This is the only time I will help you with your project.
