Every year I teach the 5th grade students about instruments and the symphony orchestra. It gives me great pleasure to announce a special field trip for these students.
On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, we will be attending a concert presented by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra at Christopher Newport University (CNU). We will leave the school promptly at 10:50 a.m. and return at 2:00 p.m.
Attire for this trip is as follows:
- Girls – sweater or blouse, skirt or pants, and appropriate shoes.
- Boys – dress shirt (with buttons down the front and a collar), tie, pants, and appropriate shoes
If the weather is cold or wet, it also will be important that the students wear a coat and/or bring a small umbrella.
This will be a formal concert so it is important for the students to dress accordingly
Students will need a bag lunch for this field trip. There is no cost for the performance.
We are looking forward to having a great trip.
At Nansemond Parkway we gather annually for our Winter Program. Our Winter Pro-gram celebrates all of our students from various ethnic backgrounds. It is our desire that our students learn the power of acceptance and tolerance. Our Winter Program expresses these objectives during this season of giving. This year our Winter Program will be on December 19th and consist of Early Start thru 2nd grade. Our program will take place at Nansemond River High School beginning at 6:30pm. Students are to arrive at 6:00pm.
You don’t want to miss this show. See you December 19th!
