Social Studies 2.2:  Native American Tribes.    Understand the relationship that the Powhatan, Lakota and Pueblo Indians had with the environment.  All three Native American tribe test on Thurs., May 1st

 

Math 3.20:  Number properties.  Identity property of addition and multiplication (any number multiplied by 1 or added to 0 makes the number stay the same)  Communitive property of addition and multiplication.  (flipping the numbers in an equation will not change the answer.  Ex.  3 + 4=4+3 or         

5×2=2×5)  Number properties quiz on Wed., April 30th.

 

Science SOL 3.8:  Conservation and Energy.  Understanding that in nature some animals and plants depend on each other.  Also, understanding that some disasters are manmade or occur naturally and that resources should be conserved.  Identifying the difference between renewable and non renewable resources.  (sun, wind, water vs. fossil fuels)

Earths Resources Test on Fri., May 2nd.

Social Studies 3.8:  Famous Americans.  Recognizing the contributions of Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Rosa Parks, Thurgood Marshall, Cesar Chavez and Martin Luther King, Jr.  Quiz on Parks, Marshall, King and Chavez on Fri, Apr., 4th.  

 

Math:  Review.  Review of all skills that will be on the upcoming benchmark test.(see “Griffin’s Corner”)   Math Nine Weeks Test on Thurs., Apr. 3rd.  

 

Science SOL 3.8:  Water cycle.  Understanding the water cycle and how it works in nature.  Key concepts are:  evaporation, condensation and precipitation.  Understanding how to conserve water and prevent pollution.
