What We’re Learning, October 23-27, 2017

Reading:  We are reading various stories including Sam, Come Back! from our reading series. We will take a comprehension test on Friday. Our word skills this week are short a and ending digraph -ck. print knowledge, and titles and pictures. We are working on capitalization and punctuation in writing.

Math: We are working on nonstandard measurement.

Science:  We are still working with natural resources. We will take our test early next week. Then we will review for our benchmark test on all science SOLs for Thursday, November 2.

Social Studies:  We are studying timelines, past, present, and future. We will take our assessment Tuesday, October 31. The timeline project is due November 3.  We will be reviewing 9 weeks’ topics for our test Friday, November 3.

Notes:  Picture Day is October 26.

Come visit us Tuesday, October 31, from 1:30-3:00 for our science circus with pumpkins. All approved volunteers are welcome! We would need you at 1:30PM.

Tuesday, November 7, is a Staff Development Day. No students are in school.
