Posted by: Susan Markham | March 6, 2017 | No Comment |

**Tuesday, March 7, is our PTA meeting and first grade performance.

Reading:  We are reading various stories from our reading series.  Our word skills this week are ABC order as well as compound words. We are working on lists in writing, as well as sharing our writing with others.

Math: We are working on equality. Students have to recognize the equal sign (=) and what it means. Both sides of the equation must “balance.” Our math benchmark is scheduled for March 22. Notes will be sent home for the skills to review.

Science: We are studying plants. This week students need to know the parts of plants and what they do for the plant.

Social Studies:  We are studying Eleanor Roosevelt. She was a volunteer for many organizations and worked with the United Nations.
