REMEMBER:  WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23 IS EARLY DISMISSAL AT 1:20PM.  BREAKFAST AND LUNCH WILL BE SERVED. OUR LUNCH TIME WILL BE 11:00-11:25 THAT DAY. THERE IS NO SCHOOL NEITHER THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24 NOR FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25 DUE TO THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY. ENJOY THIS TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

Reading:  We will be reading various stories this week as well as reviewing skills. Our reading benchmark is Wed, December 7 in the morning. It covers all of our reading skills this year, including digraphs, short vowels, picture clues, and small passages to read.

Math: We are working on fractions. Students need to know that whole objects can be divided equally into halves, thirds, and fourths. Sets can also be divided equally.

Science:  We are working with force and motion. A force is a push or a pull. An object changes its position based on the force used to move it.

Social Studies:  We are reading maps and learning map skills. Students need to know that we live in the state of Virginia and Richmond is the capital. We live in the United States with Washington, DC as our capital. Maps are flat and globes are round models of the earth. Symbols are a picture that stands for something else and can be found on a map legend or key. The cardinal directions are north, east, south, and west.
