Please study Ch. 7.3 and use the handouts as a guide through this section.  I’ve asked you to read ALL of chapter 7, so this should be your time to focus with some detail on 7.3. 

Whatever you get done in the handout packet I gave you, the less homework you will have for next week.  

For Tuesday:  be prepared to discuss the cell …

1.  Differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells

2.  Differences between animal and plant cells

3.  Each cell organelle.

PROBLEM:  What are the pH levels of various substances around a common household? 

RESEARCH:  Basic info on the pH scale ….

HYPOTHESIS:  (skip)

PROCEDURE:  (2-3 general steps)  Test and record at least 20 different substances.  

    (Variety is good:  cleaning agents, foods, medicines, beverages, fertilizer, saliva, etc … )

DATA COLLECTION:  3-column chart with the headings;  Substances,    pH,     Acid/Base/Neutral

CONCLUSIONS:  Analyze your findings.
