Textbook collection was this week!  Not only are all the textbooks in the school being scanned, but I have decided to collect them and keep them here in the classroom.  I find that I don’t use them as a resource as often as I’d like because rarely can I seem to get the students to bring their textbook … “It’s too big to carry!”  “I left it at home!”  “I brought the ‘even day’ bookbag and it’s in the ‘odd day’ bookbag.”  “Can I go to my locker and get it?”   “I can’t find mine.”  And the list of excuses goes on from here.

So, I’m going to try keeping a classroom set here and then when I want to use them as a resource, I will have everyone in them within minutes (minus the excuses and hassle.)  If any student wants to check one out for a particular reason, they are more than welcome to do so. 

I’m also using review sites on the internet much more this quarter to see if this helps engage everyone in meaningful review.  It’s an adventure in postmodern learning!  I will gage their progress with weekly quizzes, making sure that we stay on track.  :-) 

There will be no “News Reviews” for this semester.  :-)
