If you look to the page labeled “LotF links”, you will see that I have put up links to online summaries that you can fill in for the second half of the book. Print out your grade and bring it to me and I’ll enter it for you. (I’ll try to get the columns made for these in GradeSpeed tomorrow.) This should help some of you out a bit, eh?
Keep in mind, also, that the last assignment that you will have to do on Lord of the Flies will be to write a five paragraph essay addressing the theme of the novel.

In case you think that because third quarter grades are closed you don’t need to get Lord of the Flies, please know that YOU STILL NEED IT. I will doubly reward those who got the book when first asked hopefully motivate the rest of you to buy/check out/borrow (from one of my students from last year) a copy by adding this to the gradebook (again) for fourth quarter.
Let me reapeat…
YOU NEED A COPY OF Lord of the Flies by William Golding. The other option is to stay after school to finish any reading/classwork that you are unable to finish in class. Not terribly convenient really…
Each student will be expected to keep up to date with the reading! We’ll start reading LotF in about a week when we finish Julius Caesar.

The words are:
perception mutable indestructible innate compliance
axiom inanimate prevalent compatible recourse
I am not assigning Frayer models, but I definitely suggest that if they helped you last time that you to do them again to help you study.

get a copy of Lord of the Flies by William Golding. You can check it out from a public library if you don’t want to buy a copy. We will be reading this novel during fourth quarter, and everyone will need a copy! If you don’t have a copy, then you’ll have to stay after school to do some of the reading.
It’s a good book; you’ll like it!
