With a partner, make a ‘book’ including the following:
Pages required:
I. Cover
II. Sigurd’s family tree
III. Regin’s family tree
IV. A completed copy of the “Sigurd, the Dragon Slayer” cloze
V. An original “Fafnir’s End” cloze (with answers)
VI. “Sigurd” (including “Fafnir”) plot map
VII. Answers to Page 687, questions 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 in complete sentences.
VIII. Spotlight on a Norse god…see pages 684-685; you must include a source card! (see your Language text, p. 223-225) *Extra points will be awarded if information and a source card is included from a second, outside source.
Due dates will vary slightly by class due to upcoming guidance visits, but basically projects will be due at the end of the same bell as vocabulary quiz 5.

We’re off pace with the other blocks a bit, so don’t forget that we’ll be presenting our Theseus illustrations and taking the quiz on “Theseus” and the myth and legend background material on Monday!

“Sigurd, the Dragon Slayer” It’s a Norse myth; you’ll find it on page 675 in your literature textbook.
Also, please bring both textbooks to class so that we can have a book check!

Please forgive me for not posting this yesterday, I think I had the post-holiday sleepies…
All blocks except for second (since so many students were on the Pruden Center field trip) will have a quiz on the myths and legends background material and on “Theseus” on Wednesday or Thursday 11/28-29. Be prepared to explain the cultural value represented by two of Theseus’ deeds in paragraph form!
Presentations of each person’s illustration of one of Theseus’ deeds will be given prior to the quiz. Let’s be prepared!

I decided to collect this (“Theseus” cloze) for a (classwork) grade after all. Please be sure that you finished it and get it to me Monday or Tuesday (depending on which bell you’re in). The story is on page 662 in the literature book. Thanks! Second and sixth block: you had to do this mostly for homework anyway due to our shortened bell today; don’t forget to bring it back!
