I posted some activities to help with map skills here:
Map Skills – MS Power Point presentations on maps and directions (take a trip through the White House!) and on map symbols – each with a multiple-choice quiz. Also, download 25 Map Symbols Bingo cards here, print them out, and play!

I’ve posted an online project/assignment for 5th grade geography. The students will complete a Power Point on the regions of North America using a template they download from this page. Links are provided to assist students in completing this activity and brief tutorials for using Power Point 2007 are also provided.
Here is the link.

I posted a mini-review of continents, oceans, and some geography vocabulary (e.g. latitude, longitude, equator, prime meridian, compass rose, etc.), to the web. The review consists of multiple screens (the navigation icons are at the top of each screen) - some of the screens are strictly informational, and others are multiple choice assessment screens. The review course includes images and sound and is best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels. Here is the link:

I guess I should have just made one post for Geography instead of breaking this down to one for World Geography and one for US Geography, but…
Anyway, this site (below) allows students to complete a tutorial on states and capitals, then allows them to assess their knowledge from the beginner level to the expert level. There are also games about rivers and oceans. The students can also drag a drop the states into the correct location on a blank map.

I came across this website and thought I would share it with you… You can dowload a free blank map on this site, run through the interactive tutorial on the continents and oceans, and play games to assess your knowledge from the beginner to the expert! Check it out!
