Please use the Reading Passage Practice to help you practice and prepare for the upcoming Reading SOL! There are many interactive reading passages available to use!
Also, don’t forget that the VDOE has great practice for the SOLs as well! (Scroll and find Reading, Math, and Virginia Studies to practice for the SOL. There is also a great tool for parents to use, which gives the answers and explains why the answer choice is correct. Use this to review difficult skills.)
To help prepare for the upcoming state SOL tests, we will be taking “mock” released tests for Reading, Math, and Virginia Studies. The results of these tests will allow us to see which areas need more focus before we take the SOL tests.

Tuesday, April 26–>Reading Released Test Part 1
Wednesday, April 27–>Reading Released Test Part 2
Thursday, April 28–>VS Released Test
Tuesday, May 3–>Math Released Test Part 1
Wednesday, May 4–>Math Released Test Part 2
4th Graders will be taking the Reading MAP test on the Wednesday, April 20th and the Math MAP on Thursday, April 21st.
Report cards will be distributed on Friday, April 22nd.
The 3rd nine weeks Student Recognition Assemblies will take place on Tuesday, April 26th at 9:50 a.m. for grades K-2 and 10:30 a.m. for grades 3-5.
Field Day will take place on Friday, May 6th. (4th Graders are wearing purple.)
Our school’s Book Fair will be from Thursday, April 14-Friday, April 22.
The cost is $5.00 to participate in the fun activities all week. Let’s raise money to help the sweet babies in need!

Parents, please be reminded of our Science/Math Extravaganza taking place on April 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Pizza will be served to NPES students and parents only if form is received byApril 7th.
Special Math and Science bags will be distributed to NPES students. The final due date for all forms is April 8th. We hope to see you there!
