My name is Martha Griffin and I am the Gifted Resource Teacher for Oakland Elementary and Pioneer Elementary for the 2016-2017 school year.    I will be serving Pioneer Elementary  on Mondays and Tuesdays and Fridays. In addition, I’ll be at Oakland Elementary on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

All first and second grade students will receive enrichment services through a push in model of instruction in their regular education classroom.  Third through fifth grade students will continue to receive push in and pull out instruction.

Collaboration, cooperation, and open communication between home and school are key components to building a strong foundation for a successful school year.  Please feel free to contact me at anytime.  I can be reached through the main office at your child’s school  or via email (marthagriffin@spsk12.net).  If you would like to talk in person, I am always available to schedule appointments before and after school.  Periodic feedback will be sent home through progress reports and newsletters.

“COWLICKS” is a strategy that can help your child see things in different ways and practice that “out of the box” thinking.  You can do it at the dinner table, riding in the car or waiting at the doctor’s office.  You’ll be surprised at how easy they are and how good they can be for your child’s learning.
