CAREER COACH –  Justin Ellis

The purpose of the VCCS Career Coach Program is to empower high school students to make informed decisions about their career and educational plans and to prepare students for success in post secondary education and training.  The program has grown to 125 coaches serving students in over 180 high schools in Virginia.

Justin Ellis is employed by Paul D. Camp Community College and based at Nansemond River High School.  As a career coach, he helps students:

  • Define their career aspirations and
  •  Identify community college and other post secondary programs, including apprenticeships and workforce training, that can help students achieve their educational and financial goals.

Mr. Ellis’ primary goal is to increase the number and percentage of high school graduates who enter post secondary education or workforce training prepared for success.  He not only facilitates the career planning process; but, like athletic coaches, motivates students to winning performance.
