Homwork week of 1/25/16

Parents,

We will continue with Benchmark Testing this week.  Social Studies/Va Studies – Tuesday, January 26th.    Reading – January 27th and 28th (split into two days).

Be sure that your student is reading an additional 30 minutes each night, ask them questions about what they have read.  Students should spend 20 – 30 minutes each night studying their Social Studies notes and reading/studying from their text book.  They should also be studying  20 – 30 minutes from their Science notes and from their text book.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is rested and ready to do their best!  The results on the Reading Test (given the last Friday before break) were great!  I was so happy to see the growth and improvement!

This week we will be having the Math Benchmark Test on Wednesday and Thursday – two parts.  Please study weight and liquid measurement conversions.

I am getting Homework with no name on it.  Please be sure your child is putting their name on their paper.

Language Arts – You will use the attached passages to complete your LA homework each night.  Box and label (ex. Q1 ) the answer to each question.  

You also need to read for an additional 30 minutes or more each night.  Use the questions in your binder to practice finding the answers.  Do several each night.

Math –  On the attached sheet you will find homework to complete each night in math. We are now working on division.  Make up a few division problems for your child to do each night.

Science - Answer the attached questions and study your notes for 20 minutes or more each night.

Social Studies -Answer the attached questions and study your notes for 20 minutes or more each night.

All written homework is due into the Homework Basket by Friday each week.

You also need to read for an additional 30 minutes or more each night.  Use the questions in your binder to practice finding the answers.  Do several each night.

Math –  On the attached sheet you will find homework to complete each night in math.  Please work with your student each night on the multiplication facts.  It is easy to cut up paper or index cards to make flash cards.  Thanks for your help with this!
