Mrs. Lockwood's JYMS English 8 Blahg!

I hope that you enjoyed your summer vacation. I enjoyed meeting many of you at the JYMS open house. For those of you who want to be in the “know,” all teachers will be dressing in Charger colors (maroon and gold) Tuesday, 9/2. If you want to, but don’t have the colors, Walgreens at the corner of Shoulders Hill Road and Rte. 17 has many John Yeates shirts, stadium blankets, hats, key holders, etc. There is also NRHS apparel.

To my homeroom students: you will be getting a lot of material Tuesday. PLEASE, PLEASE get it signed and return it Wednesday. Don’t forget to bring money for agenda, lockers and gym fee. There is also a sheet for roller skating that you will have to have your parents sign. Don’t forget!!

I hope you start school with enthusiasm and are ready to work and enjoy school! You’re in the 8th grade, the “seniors,” so represent the school in a positive way!

Okay, we’re really almost at the end of summer.  Who would have thought it would flash before our eyes faster than the speed of light?  I’ve read yet another novel…one in the Percy Jackson series (if you like any sort of mythology/quest novels, and funny too!) you should read the Olympian series of books. They star Percy Jackson, 8th grade student with ADHD. He goes on several quests to locate and battle Kronos.  You’ll meet many gods/goddesses along the way.

If you have access to a computer, you should keep up with my blog and even post comments. There will be questions that you can answer, or key words that will help you (points on assignments help) if you know the answer.  Have a great few short weeks left of summer!
