Hello,

Thursday, May 5th, we will be traveling to Nansemond River High School to see the play,  “Aladdin “. Please speak with your child about appropriate behavior.

Friday, May 6th, is Field Day. Students are to wear navy blue t-shirts. Parents are asked to  please donate small bottles of water and juice boxes for the class.

This week we will work on the following skills: COW (Preparing for PALS Assessment), high frequency words, writing phonetically, recognizing words that rhyme, counting a collection of coins (pennies/nickels) and conducting simple experiments in the classroom.

Hello,

Thank you all for attending the Math/Science Extravaganza Night. The students seemed to have enjoyed it and  it was discussed in class.

Also, thank you for your donations for the March of Dimes. It was greatly appreciated.

The Book Fair will end Friday, April 22nd.

Report cards will be distributed April 22nd as well.

The Student Recognition assembly will take place Tuesday, April 26th, at 9:50.

This weeks skill will include: recognizing high frequency words, concept of word (COW), recognizing nonfiction texts, making predictions, digraphs, writing phonetically, subtraction, and recycling.

Parents,

NPES will be collecting donations for the March of Dimes for the week of 4/11/15. A $5.00 donation is required to participate in all activities. Please adhere to the flyer sent home.

Tuesday, April 12th, is Math/Science Extravaganza Night. Pizza will be served for those that returned forms. The activities will begin at 6:00. Please plan to attend.

This week we will continue to work with the following skills: high frequency words, welded sound, digraphs, concept of word (COW) writing phonetically and subtraction. Students will begin discussing life cycles of animals.

Hello,

I hope you all had a great Spring Break.

The Math and Science Extravaganza will take place Tuesday, April 12th. Please plan to attend.

Students are to complete activities on Reading Eggs daily.

The third nine weeks grading period will end 4/13/16. Please review identifying the penny, nickel, dime, and quarter. Students are experiencing difficulty with this skill.

This week we will recognize welded sounds, high frequency words, concept of word, identifying penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and dollar, as well as the value of each, subtraction, living and nonliving objects.
