Another wonderful day in kindergarten…

Hello,

The color for the month is green. Students are asked to wear green each Wednesday for the month of March.

Friday, March 13th, is Career Day. Special visitors from the community with different careers will make presentations. Students may dress up as to what they would like to be when they grow up.

This week skills will include recognizing high frequency words, spelling CVC words, recognizing words that rhyme, identifying letters, sounds, digraphs, welded sounds and writing phonetically. Students will gather data by constructing graphs and they will continue with map skills as well as locating objects using positional words.

Please check backpacks for important information.

There will be no school for students Tuesday, March 3rd. School will resume Wednesday, March 4th.

The color for the month is green. Students are asked to wear something green each Wednesday for the month of March.

This weeks skills will include recognizing letters, sounds, digraphs, welded sounds and high frequency words. Students will complete COW activities, write phonetically and match illustrations to writing. Students will display a large class graph which is an ongoing skill and solve story problems with sums up to 10. Students will complete map activities and locate objects using positional words.

New homework menus have been placed in folders. Please complete the activities that have been suggested.

Hello,

I hope toy enjoyed your snow day. It was great to have that extra day off!

The colors for the month of February are pink and red. Students are asked to wear either color or both each Wednesday.

The Kindergarten Recognition Awards Ceremony will be rescheduled due to inclement weather conditions.

The skills for the week are: identifying the job of the author and illustrator, recognizing the sounds for all letters, digraphs, and welded sound. The students will also identify sight words, write phonetically and complete COW activities. More skills will include solving story problems with sums through 10, and discussing facts about living and nonliving things.

Remember to complete activities on Reading Eggs (lesson first then games) as well as activities on the homework menu.

There is no school Monday, February 17th , in honor of President’s Day.

School will dismiss Tuesday, February 18th, at 1:15. Parent/Teacher Conference will begin at 2:00.

Student Recognition Assembly will Friday, February 21, at 2:00.

Thank you for your donations for the Suffolk Education Foundation.

Homework menus are placed in the back of behavior folders. Please continue to complete the activities provided.

Hello,

The colors for the month of February are pink and red. Students are asked to wear these colors or one or the other each Wednesday of the month.

School will be close Monday, February 17th, in honor of President’s Day.

NPSE will be accepting donations for the Suffolk Education Foundation. The money will support students scholar ships at the high school, teacher grants and many activities that benefit the students at NPES. The cost is $500 for the students to participate in the following activities for the week of February 10-14:

Monday- Jersey Day, Tuesday- Crazy Hat Day, Wednesday- Crazy Sock Day, Thursday-School Spirit Day, Friday-Valentine’s Day Dance.

Also, the Student Council is selling foam finger Valentine’s for $100 . They will be delivered Friday, February 14th.

This weeks skills will include recognizing digraphs, sight words, writing phonetically (dictation), reading level readers, and completing concept of word activities. Students will also, count sets up to 20 and write the number to represent the sets, as well as discuss facts about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

Please remember to check your child’s backpack for important information.

Hello,

The colors for the month of February are pink and red. Students should wear either one of the colors or both each Wednesday of the month.

This week students will recognize new sight words, identify the sounds for digraphs (sh, th, ch, wh), write phonetically, spell CVC words, and recognize story elements (characters, setting, events, beginning, middle and ending of story). Students will also recognize sets as having fewer, more, same and arrange them from greatest to least and least to greatest.

February is known as Black History Month. Students will discuss facts about several famous black Americans.

The color for the month of January is blue. Students are asked to wear blue each Wednesday.

This week we will identify high frequency words, write phonetically, match pictures to words, spell CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words, track and read level readers as well as complete concept of word activities. Students will also identify sets as having fewer more, or the same and compare measurement (volume).

Students are to complete activities on Reading Eggs and the homework menu.

Hello and Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a great winter break. I really did enjoy mine.

The color for the month is blue. Students are asked to wear blue each Wednesday for the month of January.

Yearbooks are being sold. The cost is $22. Please check the flyer for more information.

This week we will be writing phonetically, recognizing and spelling CVC words, identifying high frequency words, making predictions and comprehending fictional and nonfictional text.

Students will also demonstrate and understand how shadows are made as well as describe part-whole relationships for numbers up to 10.
