<p>Band students will be dismissed from classes at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 10th.  They are to eat during 1st lunch and report to the band room by 11:30 a.m.  The busses will depart NRH at 12 noon.  We will perform at 2 p.m. at the Peanut fest fairgrounds with a short parade around the midway and a performance at the open area at the end of the midway.  The band will be returning to NRH by 5: 30 pm. on Friday, Oct 10th.  Students will have the opportunity to buy food at the Peanut Festival Fair.   PLEASE ARRANGE TO PICK UP YOUR STUDENT FROM <strong>NANSEMOND RIVER HIGH SCHOOL</strong> NLT 6 P.M. ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2008.  ALL STUDENTS MUST RETURN TO NRH ON THE SCHOOL BUS UNLESS <strong>WRITTEN PERMISSION IS OBTAINED FROM MR MCLEMORE.</strong></p>
<p>Saturday, October 11, 2008</p>
<p>Students should be in the band room by 10 a.m.  We will have a short rehearsal and depart the school at 1 p.m.  The competition begins at 2 p.m. at Huguenot High School in Richmond, VA.  We will be competing in the 3A category at approximately 4 p.m.  We should be departing Richmond approx. 7 p.m.  We will be stopping for dinner before returning to school.  PLEASE ARRANGE TO PICK UP YOUR STUDENTS FROM NANSEMOND RIVER BY 10 P.M.  ALL STUDENTS MUST RETURN TO NRH ON THE SCHOOL BUS UNLESS <strong>WRITTEN PERMISSION IS OBTAINED FROM MR MCLEMORE.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Students will need to bring a bag lunch and be prepared to buy their own dinner after the competition.  </strong></p>

<li>Band dues are $450.00 for the 08-09 school year.</li>

<li>all students must have an instrument and required materials for band class by September 15.  Students grades will be effected after Sept 15. </li>
<li>Our first home football game is Friday, September 12 and our first competition is Saturday, September 13 (Norcom Band Day).</li>
<li>Orchestra and Jazz Band students must have a uniform for performance.  The deadline for ordering uniforms is October 8, 2008. </li>
<li>All students are required to practice a minimum of 30 min a day 6 days a week. </li>
