I hope that everyone is in great health and is having an enjoyable transition as we prepare for the Winter activity season. The purpose of this letter is to (1) give you as much information as possible concerning band activities for the Winter (2) share Suffolk Public Schools proactive plans for stopping the spread of COVID in our school and (3) give everyone the opportunity to decide on a path forward to help us in mitigating the spread of COVID 19 and prevent an outbreak in our school.
If your child has been vaccinated, please make a copy of the vaccination card and send it to the school or scan a copy to Mr. Woodis at firstname.lastname@example.org. A student is considered FULLY VACCINATED if they have received both shots 14 days prior to November 15. If your student has not been FULLY VACCINATED, they must submit a negative COVID test weekly. Suffolk Public Schools has partnered with Aegis Testing Works to provide weekly COVID 19 Testing. Testing is scheduled for every Monday beginning November 8, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. in the auditorium. This test is free. If the students misses this testing day it must be completed within 48 hours of the time the free testing ends. If the student is not tested in the school, the student or parent/guardian must pay for the testing at a local community testing site.
A copy of the letter sent from Aegis is attached to this email if you have any questions about the testing procedures.
All parents are encouraged to have your students vaccinated for the sake of keeping our successful school year rolling along for 2022 and beyond. Thank you very much for your time. I will be sure to pass along any information as it is received.
Send me a copy of your students COVID card.
Sign the consent form if you give permission for them to be tested weekly.
The deadline is November 15.
