After school band rehearsal and tryouts for flags, dancers, and majorettes is canceled for today. We will have rehearsal and tryout training on Wed – Fri. March 26 – 28. Tryouts for all auxiliary will be next week April 1 – 4 from 3 – 5:30 p.m.

Congratulations to the Nansemond River H.S. band for their outstanding performance in the Suffolk Public Schools All City Band event on March 21. Videos will be available in the SPS video library on the school division website.

Congratulations to the Nansemond River Orchestra for their outstanding performance in the Suffolk All City Orchestra on March 19 and their excellent performance in the VBODA District Orchestra Assessment at Oscar Smith High School on March 14. The orchestra received excellent comments from the judges and a Superior rating in sight reading!!!!!

All students planning to audition for the Magnificent Marching Warriors dancers, flags, or majorettes must attend an interest meeting on Thursday, March 20 from 3 – 4 p.m. in the schools auditorium. Please see Mr Woodis in the band room for more details.

The Suffolk All City Orchestra event will be held at Kings Fork Middle School on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in the schools auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. Please support music in our schools.

Because of the snow days, this weeks’ rehearsals are changed to the following: Wednesday, March 5 ( Wind players only) Thursday, March 6 (Full Band rehearsal) Friday, March 7 ( Concert Band Assessment at Great Bridge H.S.) Students should be in the band room before 6 p.m. for attendance.
