It’s been a while since my last post and many things have happened, both personally and here at school. However, it is time to focus our attention on Marching band both for the parade this Spring and for the fall season. Rehearsals are already in swing and we have two more this week. The parade is Saturday at 10:15 AM, but you will need to be at school by 8 AM.

District Festival is rapidly approaching and with it is the necessity to rehearse together after school. I have posted these rehearsals in the handbook that was distributed in September and all of them are mandatory. If you choose not to come to rehearsal (or a performance), bear in mind that there is a strong possibility that you will not perform at District Festival and in not doing so you are letting down your fellow band members.

Mrs. Webb and I would like to annouce the birth of Calvin Alexander Webb at 3:01 AM on New Year’s Day. He was 7 pounds, 6 ounces and 20 inches tall.
This is a reminder that the symphonic band has afterschool rehearsals this week. One on Tuesday, 2:30 - 4:00 and Thursday is the mandatory “dress” rehearsal. It is also from 2:30 - 4:00. You must be in attendance for the dress rehearsal Thursday in order to perform on the concert Monday, December 17.
With the Suffolk Holiday Parade coming up Saturday morning, this is a reminder that next week we have marching band practice after school on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. You need to let me know THIS week if you need bus transportation home. The music is a piece called Farandole. Stop by the band office to get your copy, especially if you are not in 7th block band. Everyone who was in marching band this season is required to participate. The parade begins at 10 AM and you will need to report to school between 7 and 7:30 Saturday morning.

The Mighty Marching Bulldogs are off to Delaware this afternoon. The two-time defending TOB Chapter XII Group 1 Champions are off to compete at the Atlantic Coast Championships in Dover, DE. We look forward to having a great time and putting on a tremendous performance. Many thanks to all our supporters!
