Math – complete rounding worksheet
History- Study location of regions. There will be a quiz on Friday on the location of these regions only. Next Friday the 21st students will be quizzed on the characteristics of these regions. use the question and answer packet.

Continent/ocean quiz for those that did not make a 100 last week will be given tomorrow.
Spelling words were given this week. A test will be given on Friday. Pretests were given today and given back tomorrow. Those that made a 100 will not have to retake the test.

Fund Raiser Packets went home today.

Bodies of water

Can you identify all the rivers that we have studied in class without using your notes? St. Lawrence, Missouri River, Mississippi River, Ohio River, Great Lakes, Colorado River, Columbia River, and the Rio Grande. Also Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.

Page 1 and 2 of this packet are already in your child’s notebook. However, if you would like to print it and keep a copy at home please do so. I wanted to pass some information along to you that may be helpful. We have been very busy this 9 weeks and before you know it, the end of the grading period will be here.

  • § The math midpoint has been given and grades will be posted this week. The SOLS that may have not been passed by your child this time will be reviewed in class in small group. I will also be sending home extra practice as needed. Keep an eye out for more correspondence.
  • § The math 9 weeks test will be Nov. 9 and 10th. The test will include Place value of decimals, circles, and mean, mode, median, and range which were on the test taken last week. Division of decimals by single digit divisors and division of whole numbers by double digit divisors which is new will also be on the 9 weeks test.
  • § Spelling is going well. All spelling tests will be averaged as one test grade and averaged in at the end of the nine weeks.
  • § Science Benchmark will be given November 16th and History will be given November 17th.
  • § Many of you I spoke with during August orientation and received an email address. If you were unable to make the orientation and have an email address that you use frequently, please email me at steedmondson@spsk12.net so that I can put you in my address book. Please write a short note of whose parent you are. If I have had email correspondence with you since the beginning of the year, there is no need to contact me unless you have other questions.
  • § United Way drive is under way. The dance is 1.00.
  • § Yearbooks are on sale. Order forms went home last week in the communication folders.
