It is time for our art students to shine once again. ”Every student is a Star!” As we start another new school year, I want my students to be preparing artwork for the 2013-14 Art Shows and upcoming contests. The first two are: Suffolk Public Schools Art on display at the Suffolk Peanut Festival in October and the PTA Reflections Contest in November. Be on the lookout for more information here and coming home with your little artists!

“April showers bring May flowers.” My art classes will be integrating some science SOLs into our art projects this month. We will learn the parts of a flower and the life cycle of a frog. Our art room will be blossoming and hopping with great Spring art projects. Can’t wait!

I am really excited about this year. I am so happy to be returning to Creekside and Hillpoint Elementary Schools. It is always fun to meet new students and see how much former ones have grown up. I am actually teaching a child who is the daughter of one of my former students. Doesn’t make me feel old, just honored to be in a profession that gives me so much pride and joy.
Peanut Festival art show is coming up soon; October 4-7, 2012. We will have some fantastic artwork going in to represent our school(s).
